Have a question?

Usually working in Canada requires a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) document to process your work permit application. Due to agreements like CUSMA (Previously known as NAFTA agreement), citizens of certain country are exempt from acquiring such document to prepare your work permit application.

In most cases, a work permit shall be obtained before a person comes to Canada, but citizens from Mexico and US can apply their work permit at the POE (port of entry) if their job falls under one of the four described category of CUSMA.
